Dresden, district by district.
Blasewitz, Striesen, Loschwitz, Neustadt or the Preußisches Viertel: how differently Dresden lives, and which district suits whom.
One city, many characters
Anyone moving to Dresden or looking for a property here soon notices that the city is not uniform. Only a few kilometres separate the Elbe slopes in Loschwitz from the lively Hechtviertel, yet they represent entirely different ways of life.
Blasewitz and Striesen
Gründerzeit villas, mature trees, short distances to the Elbe and the Blaues Wunder bridge. For many families, Blasewitz and Striesen are the epitome of fine Dresden living. Supply is scarce, and good properties often change hands before they appear publicly.
Loschwitz and Weißer Hirsch
On the Elbe slopes, you live with sweeping views across the Elbe valley. Villas, country houses and hillside plots shape the scene. View, plot and substance count for a great deal here. The funicular and the suspension railway are part of everyday life.
The Neustadt
The Äußere Neustadt is lively, creative and young, with period flats, cafés and culture in close quarters. It has been popular with investors for years. For owner-occupiers, it suits people who seek urban life.
The Preußisches Viertel
Between Albertplatz and Waldschlößchen stand stately villas and town houses, many of them listed. Quiet, central and steeped in history: a district for people who love architecture.
